American's Tolerance for Divorce

The number of Americans that believe divorce is "acceptable" continues to rise. In the most recent Gallup survey asking the question "Do you believe in general it is morally acceptable or morally wrong to get a divorce" 70% of respondents answered "acceptable. Interestingly, in 2001 only 59% answered acceptable despite the fact that actual divorce rates per capita have declined. So while more and more people find divorce acceptable, there's actually fewer and fewer people getting divorced.
